Blue Ridge Parkway Wedding | Black Balsam Knob
Lacey & Patrick’s Blue Ridge Parkway wedding is the perfect example of an intentional celebration of love. They made their way up from Orlando, with their pups, to promise their lives to each other. Surrounded by only those closest to them, they were able to have a dreamy forest ceremony, under the balsam trees of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
They are both so creative and were each able to add their own DIY touch to the day. Patrick designed and built the arch they exchanged vows under, and Lacey designed her bouquet. Each piece was matching with beautiful florals in their favorite colors. I love these small weddings, because each family member plays such a beautiful part in the day without all the stress of big plans and the pressure of large crowds. The whole afternoon was laidback, and they were really able to take in the beauty of the day.
After the ceremony, we headed over to Black Balsam Knob for portraits with the family. Seeing the stunning views of Pisgah National Forest dropped everyone’s jaw, including ours and we’ve been there countless times. There is something so special about sunset in the fall in those mountains. The way the light hits and pinks and blues fill the sky at last light. I’ll never get over it. It was truly a day filled with the kind of love that warms you. So much so, that on our way back down the mountain in the dark and among the star gazers, other couples were proposing and promising their lives to each other. The magic was in the air that night!
Lacey & Patrick, thank you for sharing this beautiful day with us and allowing us to tell your love story. Hope to meet you again soon someday.
