Our printing tips can help play a major role in getting the most out of your wedding photography. When it comes to printing and displaying photography, I’m a little bit obsessed. No wonder, since I’m a professional photographer. I have little framed photos dotted around my home and office, big canvas prints hanging on the wall and bookcases full of photo albums containing my most precious memories. Plus, of course, I show off my work online, which is probably how you found me.

Often I ask my clients if they have printed their images and many admit it’s still on their to-do list. I get it. Life gets busy. There are so many gorgeous ones it’s hard to pick. And maybe you are not sure where to print for the best quality results.

But those lovely wedding photos are meant to be seen.

After all, you invested a significant amount of money. They deserve to be turned into high-quality prints that you can enjoy as much as possible. We offer personal printing rights to your photos, and I want to educate you on printing options. This way you can get the most from your wedding photography.

Use your photographer as a resource or let them print for you – especially for prints and albums. We work closely with the best professional labs in the country that calibrate their printers to our editing styles. It’s tempting to use fast and easy print services like CVS and Costco. You will regret it when the colors are off, since these places rarely maintain their printers correctly. For your wedding photos, you should ensure they are handled by a professional lab that will deliver perfection. It’s worth the time, cost and effort to print the memories you have of your beautiful wedding day.

Wedding Photography Printing Tips: Print Labs

Be sure to look up reviews of local labs and talk to them about their printing options. Good printing labs will have an option for color correcting photos as well. This means that they individually assesses each photo, and make minor adjustments to match the print to the digital image. This option is good to use for darker images since photos on screens are backlit and brighter than they would be in print. Labs know this and know what their printer capabilities are and will adjust the images you choose to color correct accordingly. (This is why it’s good to print through your photographer and the labs we work with directly.)

Tell a story with your album.

Now, on to albums. With all of the above tips about printing included, my biggest suggestion with an album is to tell a story. Albums are a great way to put your entire wedding story together. From all the beautiful details to the emotional moments, your portraits, the dancing, etc. They make great center pieces for your home and heirlooms for your family.

We use RedTree Albums and after much research and testing, we find this company is outstanding on every level. The quality and artistry are incredible and their lay-flat hand-crafted albums are made to last a lifetime. They are bound with the softest and most beautiful luxe leather and printed in a professional lab on photographic paper. We even offer mini replicas of your larger album as gifts for your parents and grandparents. These albums are only available to print through us, so if you have questions about them, don’t hesitate to reach out. We also take care of album design for you.

Reach out to us if you have any questions

So if your wedding is coming up, I’d be happy to talk about albums and prints to discuss the remarkable difference between a cheap printing service and a specialized one. And if you have been thinking about printing for way too long, we are ready to help you because it’s never too late to print your wedding photos. Even if your wedding was one or two years ago, we would be happy if you come back to us to finally get that album created. It would be lovely to look back on past weddings and tell your love story again, page by beautiful page, and help you select some favorites for framing. It could even be a nice surprise for your love on your wedding anniversary.

Okay darlings, I just wanted to be sure to cover that for you. Whether you decide to print through us or on your own, use an actual photo lab with great reviews and tell a story with your album should you choose to put one together. Sharing digitally on social is a blast, but your photos are meant to be viewed in print. It’s a whole other experience.
