30A Wedding | Shell Island Ceremony

Hannah & Ryan’s intimate 30A wedding was one for the books. As wedding photographers based out of the Southeast, we have the pleasure of seeing some of the most beautiful corners of this region; hidden gems you didn’t know existed in this part of the country. This stunning little ceremony was a perfect example of exactly that.
With original plans to get married in a forest setting, inside an open air chapel, with 170 of their family and friends, Hannah and Ryan had to make the difficult decision to change everything around last minute.

This year has been hard on our couples, but these two didn’t let that stop them.

Panama City is a special place for both of them and when they had to switch up their plans, it seemed great for plan B. And oh let me tell you, it was. When they contacted us about the changes, we were totally up for it! This year, our mission was to be there for our couples no matter what, COVID be damned.
Hannah told me that her dad used to joke about her having a kitschy beach wedding, which made their plan even more fitting in my opinion. Thanks for speaking that into existence Mr. Clinebell! Best idea ever!

Shell Island

Hannah and Ryan spend a good bit of time at Shell Island and decided this would be the place to exchange vows. When they went looking for a spot along the beach, they came across an old pier that had been washed away by a hurricane. With the pylons still standing, it still had its shape and was an ideal option for an alter. When Hannah sent us photos of it, we could not believe how beautiful it was!

They didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony, so they took separate boats through the bay and docked on Shell Island. They had the whole island to themselves as the afternoon approached us. The weather, the light, and the setting was incredible.

I cannot begin to express how much we loved getting to know their parents, who were the only guests at their ceremony (they plan to have a reception next year to celebrate with everyone else). It was so emotional, sweet, and supportive in every way. They planned every detail together, from scouting for palm leaves to decorate the alter, to the sunset portraits on their boat, to dinner and the cake. Every detail exuded simplicity, class, and style.

To the family – Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us to be part of this wonderful day. Thank you for being so sweet, and for feeding us both nights we were in town! We loved getting to know you!
